Counseling via Telehealth for New York Residents

I accept various insurances. If I don’t accept your insurance, I accept payment for co-payments and self-payments via FSA and HSA cards.  I also can provide a “super-bill” statement for you to submit to your insurance company to seek potential out-of-network reimbursement. 

Each appointment is scheduled for 50 minutes.  There may be times when we meet for longer or meet for less.  This is based on need and availability in my schedule.  In the beginning, I meet once a week until a joint decision is made that you are feeling better and can be seen every other week.  As you begin to improve, we work together to determine how often you would like to be seen.  Many times, this is not a linear progression as life happens and the frequency of visits may change.

No, I myself do not prescribe medication.  I consider the use of medication a personal decision, however, I have found that if you are struggling with symptoms and this is impacting making progress in therapy, I will suggest seeing a prescriber such as a Primary Care Physician, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatrist.  Many times, I have found the use of medication can clear a person’s thinking enough to assist in the therapeutic process.  I can serve as an advocate providing feedback regarding behavior modifications during the medication process and work with your prescriber. 

All of my therapy sessions are conducted via video counseling (telehealth).  They are conducted via Headway, an app similar to FaceTime, that is easily downloadable to your phone, tablet, or computer.  Headway is a HIPAA-compliant platform developed specifically for the purpose of connecting clients and providers.

We can either talk then or schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we are a good fit.  If so, then I collect some information and schedule an Intake appointment.  Headway will walk you through the installation process.  Headway will send you a reminder of your appointment 24 hours before your appointment and about 15 minutes before your appointment with a link that you will click on to join your appointment.
